GBC CombBind C50 Plastic Comb Binding Machine Review

Many small offices and home offices looking for a way to bind their documents, reports and presentations, but do not have the resources to spend hundreds of dollars for a mandatory system. That is where the GBC CombBind C50 plastic comb binding machine with a price of less than $ 70 on this machine is designed for small offices that bind it on occasion to issue a document or a presentation developed. Recognizing that this machine is not designed to compete with larger solutions that cost threefour times as much, this review will look at the features, limitations and construction of the GBC C50 binding machine.

Features:

The C50 includes everything you need to bind a document with plastic combs or Zipbind. It has a light punch, capable of punching up to 5-6 sheets 20lb paper at a time. This stamp works like a large desktop 3-hole punch. All that you need only the front of the machine to activate, press the punching --Mechanism. Realistically, you'll end up punching about 4 sheets of paper at a time use to easily reach the machine. Clear covers should be punched one after another on this machine, and poly binding covers should probably be purchased pre-punched.

This machine has an integrated plastic comb opener, the means of transmitting plastic combs open to ½ "in diameter. The comb opener on this machine will not open far enough to open more large combs. This means that the C50is limited to thinner books and documents. The comb opener is operated by two handles (one on each side of the machine). You simply push the handle away from you to open the plastic comb. The fact that there are two handles makes the machine user friendly for both left handed people and right handed people.

The Combind C50 also includes a paper edge guide that is adjustable for letter sized paper, oversized covers and A4 sized paper. The edge guide is simple to operate. All you do need is a small wheel with your finger and the edge in turn, will be set for the correct paper size. In fact, the edge guide is one of the easiest to use a comb binding machines, I have seen, too. It is definitely a bonus for a machine included for this price.

Restrictions:

Like most small systems, the binding CombBind C50 also has several limitations that should be pointed out. As a cheap machine, it is not designed for high volume users and can notcertain applications.

This machine was developed) to punch three lengths of paper (Letter, A4 Oversize and lid. If you need to punch or bind other sizes, including landscape documents or Half Letter (8.5 "x 5.5") books that you need a machine with disengaged punch pins. This machine does not include this feature.

As stated above, the C50 is capable of opening larger sized plastic comb binding spines. The fingers of the opener on this machine isPlastic and try to could use it with larger combs of teeth result in a termination. This means that the documents that less than 90 sheets 20lb bond paper will contain limited. This machine should not be used with 3 / 16 "diameter combs since the distance between the holes are on the edge of the paper documents are difficult to use such a small comb binding spines.

Construction:

As expected of a machine in this price class, the C50is usually made from plastic. In most cases, this should not pose a problem because this machine is built for light volume applications. My only concern would be the teeth of the comb opener (the parts) to stick. These teeth seem a little sparse and could possibly break, if you are not careful. In this sense, I would estimate that the GBC C50 has a useful life of about two years under normal circumstances.

Recommendation:

I would not hesitate torecommend the GBC C50 binding machine for a small office or home office that needs a few documents together. It is also an ideal solution for mobile solutions where a binding machine is in your card or need a mobile office. In fact, it is a popular choice of the evaluators and assessors to tie the home Reports from the scene. However, if you commit more than a few documents per week I'd suggest buying a larger machine.
